The debate “The Great Famine in Ukraine. Art in the Face of Genocide”

Over 70 people visited the Nizio Gallery during the debate “Great Famine in Ukraine. Art in the face of genocide. An extremely important discussion and an evening spent in excellent company are behind us.

We would like to thank outstanding artists for participating in the event: Oksana Zabuzhko, Lia Dostlieva, Witold Szabłowski and Mirosław Nizio. We are grateful for the presence of the representatives of the Holodomor Museum Foundation – Tetiana Lysznewec and Ivan Wasiunyk, and to the representative of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland, which became the Honorary Patron of both the Saturday debate and the exhibition “Museum of Holodomor under construction”, opened on September 17.

We would like to thank the audience for the meeting, discussion, interest in the topic and words of appreciation. You confirm our belief that, although there is still a lot to be done, we have already managed to do a lot of good work for the memory of the Holodomor.

We would like to remind you that the exhibition “The Holodomor Museum under construction” will run until October 14th. We invite you to the Nizio Gallery at ul. Inżynierska 3 in Warsaw. Information about the exhibition and the accompanying meetings are available at the event on the fanpage of the Nizio Foundation on Facebook.

The video recording of the debate on art in the face of genocide is still available – we encourage you to watch in online.

The author of the photos from the exhibition and the debate is Gosia Kawka-Piotrowska.
