‘CREATORS’ PROGRAM – DESIGN AND DESIGNING WORKSHOP

On November 22, 2022, we invited children who dream of becoming a designer to the Nizio Foundation. The workshop titled ‘LITTLE CREATORS – DESIGN A FAIRY TALE HOUSE! DESIGN WORKSHOP’ was attended by children aged 8 to 13 in refugee crisis.
During the workshop, participants learnt what designers and architects do, learnt how to combine colours and forms, and talked about the world’s top architectural creators. Above all, however, they tried their hand at interior and architectural environment design. Searching for an idea and style, they created a joint installation – a model of a fairy tale house. The mock-up was inspired by the movie ‘Cruella’. The aim of the workshop was to develop children’s creativity and learn how to carry out joint, collaborative projects.
In early December, the workshop also had its second iteration – this time we had clothing design on the agenda, and the classes were held at the Warsaw Ukrainian School, a host institution for children who have come to Poland from Ukraine in recent months.
The workshop was led by Halyna Dudar – a graduate of the Lviv National Academy of Arts (major: monumental painting) and the School of Performance. She is the curator of the Junior program at the Specialized School of Design in Lviv. The artist has had a number of solo exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. Dudar’s works can be found in private collections in several countries. Currently, Halyna is a resident of the Konopacki Palace in Warsaw.
